Baseball Recap: Mercer County Golden Eagles vs. Monmouth-Roseville Titans

Mercer County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell just short of the Monmouth-Roseville Titans by a score of 6-5. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Mercer County of the 7-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March.

Tannen Whitehall made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Collison, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

On Monmouth-Roseville's side, Tyler Jones was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Zach Almaguer was another key contributor, going 1-for-3 with a stolen base and two RBI.

Mercer County's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Monmouth-Roseville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-13 record this season.
