Baseball Recap: Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association's Run of 11 Straight Wins Now Over

Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association dropped their record down to 17-7-1 on Friday, which also ended the team's 11-game streak of wins. They fell 6-3 to the Wake County HomeSchool Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, with their most recent loss being a 10-9 defeat back in March.

Tim SEITZ made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

As for Wake County HomeSchool, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-8. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games.

On Wake County HomeSchool's side, Daulton Hunt looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Hunt has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Gabriel Ferrell was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Gunnar Manning, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Varina at 6:00 p.m. on the 12th. Wake County HomeSchool does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
