Football Recap: Centerburg Comes Up Short

If Centerburg was riding high fresh off their 34-0 takedown of Utica last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans had to suffer through a 42-14 loss at the hands of the Johnstown-Monroe Johnnies.

Ryan Sager had an outrageously good game for Johnstown-Monroe as he rushed for 262 yards and six scores while picking up 11.4 yards per carry, and also picked up 39 receiving yards. Sager was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 66 yards.

Centerburg's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Johnstown-Monroe, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Centerburg will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Worthington Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Johnstown-Monroe, they will welcome Granville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
