Basketball Recap: Raleigh-Egypt Takes a Loss

Raleigh-Egypt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 30th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Covington Chargers, falling 69-13. The Pharaohs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-6.

Covington found their leader in sophomore TaKyra Boddie, who went 10 of 16 on her way to 25 points. The game was Boddie's tenth in a row with at least 15 points. TaNya Flowers was another key player, going 8 for 15 en route to 17 points and six rebounds.

Raleigh-Egypt's defeat dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Covington, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-13.

As of now, neither Raleigh-Egypt nor Covington have any future games scheduled.
