Softball Recap: Nederland Wins Going Away Against Big Sandy

Nederland saw some tournament action on Thursday. They blew past the Big Sandy Wildcats 15-2.

Addison Gillard was a standout: she went a perfect3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee Livingston, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

Nederland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Big Sandy only posted a batting average of .091.

The win got Nederland back to even at 1-1. As for Big Sandy, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Nederland will take on Fort Bend Elkins in a tournament on Thursday. As for Big Sandy, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats face off against the Cardinals on Friday.
