Soccer Game Preview: Erasmus Hall vs. Westinghouse

The Erasmus Hall Dutchmen will head out to take on the Westinghouse Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Erasmus Hall is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight matches on Sunday. They came up short against John Jay, falling 12-0. While losing is never fun, Erasmus Hall can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York soccer rankings (they are ranked 449th, while John Jay are ranked 145th).

Meanwhile, Westinghouse fell victim to Grand Street Campus and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They lost 9-0 to Wolves. That's two games in a row now that Westinghouse have lost by exactly nine goals.

Westinghouse's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Erasmus Hall, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Erasmus Hall skirted past Westinghouse 2-1 when the teams last played back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dutchmen since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
