Baseball Recap: North Pocono Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for North Pocono, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Abington Heights Comets 7-5. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Comets back in April, they had to take a 10-0 defeat.

Nick Reese was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Josh Kalinowski, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

North Pocono hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Abington Heights struck out eight times.

North Pocono is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Abington Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 16-4.

Coming up, North Pocono will face off against Delaware Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Abington Heights does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
