Recap: Texas Wind vs. Valor Preparatory Academy Knights
Texas Wind entered their tilt with the Valor Preparatory Academy Knights with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Texas Wind snuck past Valor Preparatory Academy with a 59-53 win on Friday. For Texas Wind, this counts as revenge for the 62-49 loss Valor Preparatory Academy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Valor Preparatory Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bennett Herman, who scored 17 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Guess, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Texas Wind pushed their record up to 16-8 with that victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.6 points per game. As for Valor Preparatory Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Texas Wind will face off against Heritage Christian Athletics at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Valor Preparatory Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Methodist Children's Home at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
