Baseball Game Preview: Forrest Rockets vs. Eagleville Eagles

The Forrest Rockets will head out on the road to take on the Eagleville Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The last four games Forrest has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Forrest fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Shelbyville Central on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 3-1. The Rockets haven't had much luck with the Golden Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Eagleville unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 8-5 to Spring Hill.

Marshall Spann and Brady Burns stepped up to the plate in a big way. Spann went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Burns went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Karsyn Knowles also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Forrest's defeat dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Eagleville, their loss dropped their record down to 19-5.

Forrest couldn't quite get it done against Eagleville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 5-1. Can the Rockets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
