Basketball Game Preview: Newman Smith Trojans vs. Wakeland Wolverines

The Newman Smith Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Wakeland Wolverines at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Newman Smith will be strutting in after a win while Wakeland will be coming in after a loss.

Newman Smith is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 73-46 victory over Turner. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Trojans have posted since November 9, 2024.

Meanwhile, Wakeland unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 59-47 to The Colony.

Wakeland's defeat dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Newman Smith, their victory bumped their record up to 6-16.

Newman Smith came up short against Wakeland in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 57-46. Can Newman Smith avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
