Softball Recap: Clark Drops Highest Score of Season Against Durango

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clark). They were the clear victors by a 25-8 margin over the Durango Trailblazers on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won four matches by 15 runs or more so far this season.

Alizon Abad Macedo was a standout: she scored four runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-5. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Paola Garcia, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Abad Macedo wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Clark kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

Clark pushed their record up to 7-3-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Durango, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Coming up, Clark will head out to face off against Eldorado at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Firehawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.75 runs per game on average), something the Chargers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Durango, they will be playing at home against Legacy at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Longhorns will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Trailblazers surely won't give up without a fight.
