Softball Recap: Lemon Bay Snags Sixth Win in Last Eight Games

Lemon Bay won the last time they faced Hardee and things went their way on Friday too. The Manta Rays put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 16-5 win. That's two games straight that the Manta Rays have won by exactly 11 runs.

Reagan Altieri spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits.

At the plate, Cassidy Robejsek was a standout: she scored a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mattie Couture, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

Lemon Bay was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .485. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Lemon Bay is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Hardee, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lemon Bay will host Southeast at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Manta Rays' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Seminoles have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Hardee, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Port Charlotte at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
