Softball Recap: Holgate Takes a Loss

Holgate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Kalida Wildcats.

Lici Escamilla made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Isabelle Blaker, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Holgate's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Kalida, they moved to 2-6 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Holgate is taking a road trip to challenge McComb at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Kalida has already played their next game (against Leipsic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
