Football Recap: Southern Lehigh Picks Up 11th Straight Win at Home

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Southern Lehigh walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 43-21 margin over the Twin Valley Raiders on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won 11 matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.

Sean Steckert was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 300 yards and four TDs while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Steckert is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 217 every time he's taken the field this season.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Southern Lehigh was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 300 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 168 rushing yards in three consecutive games.

When it comes to explaining why Twin Valley lost, don't look at Drew Engle. Despite the final result, he rushed for 173 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Engle is now averaging an impressive 126 rushing yards per game.

Southern Lehigh pushed their record up to 15-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.7 points over those games. As for Twin Valley, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 14-1.

As of now, neither Southern Lehigh nor the Raiders have any future games scheduled.
