Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of April Lutolf and Mariah Johnson Lead Woodland Christian to Victory

Woodland Christian won the last time they faced Rio Vista and things went their way on Monday too. The Cardinals blew past the Rams 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-12, 25-20.

Leading Woodland Christian to victory were Mariah Johnson and April Lutolf. Johnson had seven aces and six digs, while Lutolf had 15 digs. Those seven aces gave Johnson a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Woodland Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 20 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 45 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Woodland Christian's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-8. As for Rio Vista, their loss ended a seven-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-8.
