Volleyball Recap: Amelia Academy Starts off Right with Win over Guardian Christian Academy

Amelia Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Guardian Christian Academy Royal Knights as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Patriots also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2023.

One reason for the win was Amelia Academy's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-20, 25-13.

Trista Davis went supernova, getting 12 aces and one assist. Those 12 aces gave her a new career-high. Kennedy Hooper was another key player, getting five aces and one block.

They weren't the only good server: Amelia Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 22 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in eight consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Amelia Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Grove Christian School on the 26th. As for Guardian Christian Academy, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Tidewater Academy on the 28th.
