Basketball Recap: Silver Lake Takes a Loss

Silver Lake came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 56-30 to the Deshler Dragons. Mustangs fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Dragons since Friday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Deshler to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carson Sieber, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was Sieber's third in a row with at least 15 points. Kaden Kleen was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and 12 boards.

Silver Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Deshler, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Silver Lake is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Axtell at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Deshler, they will take on Tri County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
