Baseball Recap: Battle Mountain Takes a Loss

Battle Mountain lost to Coal Ridge on April 14th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Husky came up short against the Titans, falling 13-2.

Tony Damici and Kia Tipton stepped up to the plate in a big way. Damici went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two RBI, while Tipton got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Battle Mountain is 3-1 when Damici posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-5-1 otherwise.

Battle Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 7-6-1. As for Coal Ridge, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Battle Mountain will head out to take on Steamboat Springs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Husky are facing the Sailors at the right time seeing as the Sailors are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Coal Ridge, they are taking a road trip to face off against Meeker at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cowboys have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season.
