Basketball Recap: Sarasota Christian Gets the Win

If Out-of-Door Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Sarasota Christian, they should've done a better job of containing Nikki Olupitan. The Sarasota Christian Blazers enjoyed a cozy 28-11 win over the Out-of-Door Academy Thunder on Tuesday thanks in part to Olupitan, who posted seven points and 13 boards. Sarasota Christian is 4-1 when Olupitan posts eight or more rebounds, but 5-8 otherwise.

The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Fullerton, who scored three points and five steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in December of 2023.

The victory got Sarasota Christian back to even at 9-9. As for Out-of-Door Academy, they dropped their record down to 6-12 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home.

Sarasota Christian will head out on the road to square off against Braden River at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Out-of-Door Academy, they will welcome Admiral Farragut at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Out-of-Door Academy is facing Admiral Farragut at the right time seeing as Admiral Farragut is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
