Basketball Recap: Sumner Find Success

Sumner's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 50-40 victory over the Veritas Christian Academy Eagles.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jake Markham, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Uriah Reardon, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 10 points.

Sumner now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Veritas Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Sumner will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Liberal at 6:00 p.m. on January 11, 2025. Veritas Christian Academy will take on Missouri Military Academy in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
