Baseball Recap: Mahnomen/Waubun Has No Trouble Against Bagley

Mahnomen/Waubun won the last time they faced Bagley and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Thunderbirds blew past the Flyers 15-5. Considering the Thunderbirds have won three matchups by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Zach Zima, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and four runs. He is becoming a predictor of Mahnomen/Waubun's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-4 when he doesn't). Jack Zima also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Mahnomen/Waubun kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 10.4.
