Football Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Hillcrest Panthers, falling 30-6. The game was a close 7-6 at the break, but unfortunately for the Patriots it sure didn't stay that way.

When it comes to explaining why Jefferson lost, don't look at Aaron Oliva. Despite the final result, he rushed for 94 yards and one TD on only 11 carries.

Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Hillcrest, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Jefferson is set to take on their familiar foe Seagoville at 7:30 p.m. on the 31st. Meanwhile, Hillcrest will face off against rival Adamson at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st.
