Baseball Game Preview: Centennial Cougars vs. Franklin Admirals

For the second straight game, Centennial will face off against Franklin. Centennial will be playing in front of their home fans against Franklin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Centennial easily dispatched Columbia Central on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Centennial fell just short of Franklin by a score of 6-4 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Cougars have suffered since March 8th.

Austin Yates was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, Eli Wells was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Charles Corbett was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Franklin's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7. As for Centennial, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
