Independence never let their opponents score on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 win over the Beech Buccaneers. The victory was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on four straight.

Independence pushed their record up to 26-11 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Beech, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 25-18.

Independence will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Buccaneers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
