Basketball Recap: Acalanes' Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

Acalanes entered their contest against Campolindo on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Acalanes Dons lost 57-37 to the Campolindo Cougars. The game marked the Dons' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Campolindo's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gavin Rendle, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 16 points. What's more, Rendle also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Ren Marchetti was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Acalanes' defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-5. As for Campolindo, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Acalanes will head out on the road to square off against Mt. Diablo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Mt. Diablo: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Acalanes has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road. As for Campolindo, they will host Clayton Valley Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Rendle and Elijah Perryman.
