Basketball Game Preview: Stevenson Ambassadors vs. Wings Academy Wings

The Stevenson Ambassadors are taking a road trip to challenge the Wings Academy Wings at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Stevenson has given up an average of 71.2 points per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Monday, Stevenson took a blow against Eagle Academy, falling 95-55. The Ambassadors have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Wings Academy hadn't beaten Marshall Academy on the road since February 2, 2018 but that history sure didn't bother them on Wednesday. The Wings walked away with a 65-57 win over the Panthers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wings.

Wings Academy's win came from a few key players Stevenson will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was MOHAMED FOFANA, who shot 60% from the field on his way to 16 points along with five assists and five boards. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 45.2% shooting accuracy. EMMANUEL NIEVES was another key player, going 5-for-10 to rack up 15 points and five steals.

Wings Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Stevenson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Wings Academy, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Stevenson lost to Wings Academy on the road by a decisive 69-54 margin in their previous matchup back in February. Thankfully for the Ambassadors, Rushawn Greene (who shot 71% from the field en route to 30 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds) won't be suiting up this time.
