Basketball Recap: Mt. Healthy Takes a Loss

Mt. Healthy lost against Middletown back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Mt. Healthy Fighting Owls were dealt a 55-16 loss at the hands of the Middletown Middies. The Fighting Owls were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 25-5.

Middletown's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kenya Benson, who posted 15 points and four steals. Those 15 points gave Benson a new career-high. Jamia Jones was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 15 boards.

Mt. Healthy is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13. As for Middletown, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11.

Mt. Healthy will head out to face off against Northwest at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mt. Healthy is facing Northwest at the right time seeing as Northwest is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Middletown, they will host Fairfield at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Middletown is on a three-game streak of home losses, Fairfield a ten-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change.
