Basketball Recap: King City Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

King City hadn't done well against Worth County recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The King City Wildkats had just enough and edged the Worth County Tigers out 47-44. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 55-49 two weeks ago.

Despite the loss, Worth County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Cole Ruby went 6 of 15 on his way to 17 points along with six steals and five boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ruby has scored all season. Cannon Fletcher was another key player, going 5 for 12 on his way to 13 points.

King City's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-4. As for Worth County, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

King City will head out to face off against Stanberry at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Worth County, they will host Albany at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
