Recap: Luling Eagles vs. Stockdale Brahmas
The Luling Eagles are still winless after their game against the Stockdale Brahmas on Tuesday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. Luling fell just short of Stockdale by a score of 40-38. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Luling in their matchups with Stockdale: they've now lost four in a row.
Loss or not, Luling got some senior leadership from Makyla Houston who scored 11 points along with 4 steals and Skylar Dredla who scored 7 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. Dredla has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played.
Luling's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-6. As for Stockdale, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Luling will square off against Cuero at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. Cuero is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. As for Stockdale, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against La Vernia at 12:00 p.m.
