Basketball Recap: Philipsburg-Osceola Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tyrone, Philipsburg-Osceola was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They secured a 44-38 W over the Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils. This was payback for the Mountaineers, who suffered a 53-48 loss the last time these two teams met.

Bellwood-Antis' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colin Mcclellan, who posted eight points. The dominant performance also gave Mcclellan a new career-high in boards (four). Another player making a difference was Connor Mayes, who scored nine points.

Philipsburg-Osceola's win bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Bellwood-Antis, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Philipsburg-Osceola wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, an 82-54 loss against Huntingdon on the 29th. Bellwood-Antis has also already played their next contest, a 59-28 defeat against Hollidaysburg on the 29th.
