Baseball Recap: Cloverdale Comes Up Short

Cloverdale managed to slip by North Putnam the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Clovers lost 7-1 to the Cougars on Saturday. The Clovers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 6-5.

Cloverdale saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Campbell, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases. The Clovers are 2-1 when Campbell posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-10 otherwise.

Cloverdale's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for North Putnam, their record now sits at 7-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cloverdale will square off against Eastern Greene at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Thunderbirds will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Clovers surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Putnam, they will challenge Fountain Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
