Blackman hadn't done well against Oakland recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Blaze skirted past the Patriots 3-2. The victory was nothing new for the Blaze as they're now sitting on seven straight.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Blackman who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-22, 19-25, 25-18, 18-25, 15-6.

Annabelle Grissom went supernova, getting 18 digs and two aces. That's the most digs she has posted over her last nine matches.

Grissom wasn't the only good servers: Blackman was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in seven consecutive contests.

Blackman's record now sits at 18-6. As for Oakland, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-12.

Looking ahead, Blackman will take on Siegel at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Oakland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
