Baseball Recap: High Tech CV Takes a Loss

High Tech CV had lost 14 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 0-14 to make it 15. They lost 9-1 to the Liberty Charter Lions. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

As for Liberty Charter, they now have a winning record of 9-8. Considering they have won eight contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

For Liberty Charter's part, they let Fisher Chase and Isaac Anderson run wild. Chase went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Anderson went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. With that strong performance, Chase is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Otero, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Coming up, High Tech CV will take on Ocean View Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.57 runs per game on average), something the Bruins will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Liberty Charter, they will host Chula Vista Learning Community Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cobras have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.14 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
