Baseball Game Preview: Weaver Beavers vs. Academy of Science and Innovation Ravens

Weaver is on an eight-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Academy of Science and Innovation an 11-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Wednesday. The Weaver Beavers will be playing at home against the Academy of Science and Innovation Ravens at 2:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Weaver lost 9-1 to University on Monday.

Weaver saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Troy Sullivan, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Academy of Science and Innovation started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Academy of Aerospace and Engineering. They fell just short of the Jets by a score of 11-10 on Monday. Even if the Ravens couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Adrian Ramos and Liam Main did some serious damage despite the final result: Ramos went a perfect 3-for-3 with six stolen bases and two runs, while Main went 2-for-3 with eight stolen bases and three runs. With that strong performance, Main is now averaging an impressive 1.3 stolen bases per game. Gavin Grant was another key player, going 2-for-3 with six stolen bases and one run.

Academy of Science and Innovation's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Weaver, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.
