Basketball Game Preview: New Albany Bulldogs vs. Salem Lions

New Albany is on a four-game streak of home losses, Salem a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Monday. The New Albany Bulldogs will welcome the Salem Lions at 7:30 p.m. Salem took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on New Albany, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with 11 losses in a row, New Albany turned things around against Holy Cross on Saturday. They blew past the Cougars, posting a 55-21 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Bulldogs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 294th in Indiana, while the Cougars are ranked 138th in Kentucky).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Salem challenged North Harrison on Thursday. Salem was outmatched by North Harrison and fell 55-23. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Lions have suffered against the Cougars since December 15, 2016.

Salem's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for New Albany, their victory ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-11.

New Albany and Salem were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but New Albany came up empty-handed after a 43-42 defeat.
