Softball Recap: Hartford Triumphs

Hartford won the last time they faced Fair Haven and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Hurricanes walked away with a 5-1 win over the Slaters.

Serenitee Martel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Faith Brown, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Sylvia Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Hartford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fair Haven only posted a batting average of .042.

Hartford's record now sits at 8-3. As for Fair Haven, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
