Basketball Recap: Ursuline Academy Comes Up Short

Ursuline Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 60-40 to the Seton Saints. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 337th, while the Saints are ranked 120th).

Seton was led to victory by Aubri Korfhagen and Kaitlyn Hess. Korfhagen went 7 for 15 on her way to 21 points and five boards, while Hess went 6 of 13 en route to 17 points. Korfhagen continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Annie Busam, who posted eight points.

Ursuline Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Seton, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Ursuline Academy Lions face off against the Little Miami Panthers at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Seton has already played their next contest (against Goshen), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
