Columbus skates past Rice Consolidated with ease

Recap: Columbus Cardinals vs. Rice Consolidated Raiders

The Columbus Cardinals won the last time they faced the Rice Consolidated Raiders, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Columbus claimed a resounding 52-11 win over Rice Consolidated on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Columbus has managed all season.

Columbus' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Karlee Mathis, who scored five points along with nine assists and six rebounds. Those nine assists set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Sage Thomas, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.

Columbus has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Rice Consolidated, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-11.

Columbus will be home for the holidays to greet Yoakum at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Yoakum focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Tuesday. As for Rice Consolidated, they will head out on the road to face off against Hallettsville at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Hallettsville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Rice Consolidated in Texas (Hallettsville is ranked 299th, while Rice Consolidated is ranked 1468th).
