Basketball Recap: Antioch Sequoits vs. Wauconda Bulldogs
The Antioch Sequoits lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Saturday was a bit more commanding. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 63-40 walloping at the hands of Wauconda. Antioch was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-13.
Despite the defeat, Antioch had strong showings from Heidi Rathmann, who scored 13 points, and Addison Webb, who scored nine points.
Antioch has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-10 record this season. As for Wauconda, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 18-5.
Antioch will be playing at home against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Wauconda, they will head out on the road to challenge the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Warren Township has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
