Baseball Game Preview: Paradise Panthers vs. Bowie Jackrabbits

The Paradise Panthers are headed away from home for the first time to challenge the Bowie Jackrabbits at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Paradise has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Bowie will arrive with four straight wins.

It was a proper cat-fight when Paradise took on Krum on Thursday. Paradise fell 7-3 to Krum.

Paradise got a good showing from Kaden Hammonds, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Hammonds has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Paradise saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Mara, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Those two hits gave Mara a new career-high. Ayden Olalde also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, everything went Bowie's way against Childress on Friday as Bowie made off with an 11-4 victory. Considering the Jackrabbits have won four games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Bowie pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Paradise, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4-2.

Paradise skirted past Bowie 2-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will Paradise repeat their success, or does Bowie have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
