Softball Recap: Juneau-Douglas Comes Up Short

Saturday just wasn't the day for Juneau-Douglas's offense. They fell 4-0 to the South Anchorage Wolverines on Saturday. The Crimson Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wolverines earlier this season, when they won 6-4.

Juneau-Douglas' loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-13-1. As for South Anchorage, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Juneau-Douglas will take on Wasilla at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Crimson Bears are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for South Anchorage, they will square off against Dimond at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolverines' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lynx have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
