Preview: South Windsor Bobcats vs. Middletown Blue Dragons

South Windsor has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Middletown Blue Dragons at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. South Windsor will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings (they are ranked 81st, while the Blue Dragons are ranked 17th).

South Windsor pushed their score all the way to 57 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The contest between them and Manchester wasn't particularly close, with South Windsor falling 73-57.

Meanwhile, Middletown waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They walked away with a 54-44 win over New Fairfield.

Shalyn Smith continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points. Tessa Porch was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.

South Windsor has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Middletown, they pushed their record up to 13-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.

South Windsor came up short against the Blue Dragons when the teams last played back in December of 2016, falling 58-53. Thankfully for South Windsor, Brielle Wilborn (who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 18 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
