Basketball Game Preview: Wakulla War Eagles vs. Godby Cougars

Wakulla hasn't had much luck against Godby recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wakulla War Eagles will challenge the Godby Cougars at 6:00 p.m.

Wakulla is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They lost to Maclay at home by a 46-29 margin. The War Eagles were down 42-20 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Godby sidestepped P.K. Yonge for a 2-0 victory. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while the Blue Wave are ranked 404th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Godby has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.1 points per game. As for Wakulla, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.

Wakulla was taken down by Godby 72-11 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Godby's Aniyah Lewis, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten steals.
