Football Recap: Wood Wildcats vs. River City Raiders
Wood extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-4. They took a 21-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the River City Raiders. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Raiders from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.
Tanner McCottrell threw for 101 yards on 11 of 18 attempts. Dj Seymour was his top target, picking up 73 receiving yards. On the ground, SaVaghn White rushed for 29 yards.
As for River City, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 10 points in those games.
River City had a senior duo take command as Amarion Temple rushed for 76 yards and three TDs on only eight carries and Jeremiah Huntley rushed for 125 yards on only ten carries.
Coincidentally, Wood and River City will both be playing Pioneer the next time they take the field. The Raiders will head out to face the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Wildcats will host them at 7:30 p.m. on the 10th.
