Basketball Recap: Ryle's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

If Boone County wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Ryle, they should've done a better job of containing Jaelyn Jones. The Ryle Raiders breezed by the Boone County Rebels to the tune of 68-18 on Wednesday thanks in part to Jones, who went 8 of 12 on her way to 21 points and four steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played.

Laynee Hampton was another key player, putting up four points and five steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

Ryle's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-11. As for Boone County, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-11.

Ryle has already played their next game, a 55-47 victory against Conner on the 24th. Boone County has also already played their next matchup (against St. Henry), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
