Basketball Recap: Liberty Lions vs. Winters Mill Falcons

After a string of three wins, the Liberty Lions's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 66-57 to Winters Mill. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (56), Liberty still had to take the loss.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Winters Mill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Owen Case, who scored 14 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sam Wivell, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Winters Mill, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Liberty will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cavaliers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Maryland (South Carroll is ranked 131st, while the Lions are ranked 121st). As for Winters Mill, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Owls at 6:30 p.m. on January 31st. Westminster is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
