Baseball Recap: Eastern Greene Thunderbirds vs. Mitchell Bluejackets
Eastern Greene extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 2-6. They lost 11-5 to the Mitchell Bluejackets. The Thunderbirds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bluejackets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Saxton Pennycuff put in work no matter where he played. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
As for Mitchell, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Mitchell's side, Parker Felton was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. That's the most runs Felton has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Parker Reeve, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
Looking ahead, Eastern Greene will challenge South Knox at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mitchell, they will take on Corydon Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bluejackets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
