Sahuarita is 8-2 against Amphitheater since October of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m.

Sahuarita managed to slip by Rio Rico the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Mustangs lost 3-0 to the Hawks last Thursday. The Mustangs' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

While Sahuarita was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-21, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Amphitheater got their first taste of in-conference action on Wednesday and they started things off strong. Everything went their way against Cholla as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-14, 25-16.

Sahuarita's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 10-7. As for Amphitheater, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.

Everything went Sahuarita's way against Amphitheater in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Sahuarita made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
