Basketball Recap: Kettle Run Takes a Loss

Kettle Run was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. The game between them and the Brentsville District Tigers didn't end well, with the Kettle Run Cougars falling 48-32. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 361st, while the Tigers are ranked 88th).

Brentsville District's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brooke Lynn Miller led the charge by going 5-for-11 to rack up 11 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Brown, who posted nine points.

Kettle Run's defeat dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Brentsville District, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Kettle Run didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 34-19 loss against Fauquier on the 7th. As for Brentsville District, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 40-38 win against Meridian on the 7th.
