Football Recap: Loyola College Prep Piles Up the Points Against Southwood

Loyola College Prep never let their opponents score on Thursday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 56-0 victory over the Southwood Cowboys. That 56 point margin sets a new team best for the Flyers this season.

A big part of Loyola College Prep's win came down to the chemistry between Bryce Restovich and his top target Charlie McKenzie. Restovich threw for 234 yards and six touchdowns on only 16 passes while McKenzie picked up 94 receiving yards and four TDs. Those six passing touchdowns gave Restovich a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Walsworth, who picked up 95 receiving yards and one score.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Loyola College Prep proved: they limited Southwood to a paltry 1.7 yards per carry. While two picked up at least eight total tackles, Alex Mitchell stood above the rest. He picked up two sacks and made eight total tackles (5.0 for loss). Loyola College Prep didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.9.

The victory keeps Loyola College Prep at an undefeated 4-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 55.5 points this season. As for Southwood, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
